Epping Residents Protest Against Council Plans to Destroy Beautiful Historic Countryside

On Friday evening a large group of Epping residents demonstrated against the plan by EFDC to build new homes on the beautiful countryside in South Epping.

Many of you will be aware that the Epping Society have very strong views about this and we will be posting a strongly worded opinion piece on Tuesday with information on how you can help in the fight agaist these proposals.

The EFDC response did not mention the strong opposition to surrendering Green Belt generally and opposition then and now to this site in particular. EppingSociety and others during the local plan hearings attempted to get undertakings about infrastructure provision before housing developments went ahead but EFDC would not listen. We know we have lost Green Belt but complaints about Epping South continue because facilities will not be provided and the local roads are not up to handling current traffic, let alone the additional vehicles after 450 additional homes are occupied.
