'Epping Forest Guardian' Covers Our Press Release on The South Epping Masterplan

Following on from The Epping Society Press Release highlighting that over 70% of Epping Residents in the Council Public Consultation are opposed to this development we were pleased to see The Epping Guardian make this their cover story this week.

We were forced to make a 'Freedom of Information' Request for the report which was the result of a wide consultation last summer. At over 300 pages it highlights just how against this project Epping Residents are and makes us question just on what justification it can go ahead.

No one buries bad news and the fact that we were only able get our hands on it and bring the news to you shows a worrying lack of transparency by the council. One has to wonder what other information is or has been with held.

We very firmly call on the council to either cancel SEMPA with immediate effect OR to come up with a new plan that has the support of the town.

Since our previous articles we have had residents contact us with information that their objections were not included in the document. We will be publishing on their behalf in due course.

The Epping Society would like to thank all of you who support our work either through membership, donations, signing our petitions or simply engaging through our news pages and/or Facebook pages.
