The Epping Society Supports The Keepers Campaign
The Epping Society is pleased to support the ongoing efforts of The Keepers, a local community action group formed to protect the Green Belt land between Bower Hill, The Orchards and Stewards Green Road from inappropriate development.
The Keepers was established by local residents who are committed to safeguarding this important area of countryside and ensuring that community concerns are properly represented in the planning process. The group works to raise awareness of development proposals that could significantly impact the local environment, landscape, wildlife habitats and the character of the surrounding neighbourhoods.
As part of their campaign, The Keepers have been actively engaging with local residents and encouraging public participation in the planning consultation process. On Monday 5 October, they organised a market stall to inform members of the public about the proposed development, answer questions, and encourage residents to make their views known to the planning authority.

The Epping Society fully supports these objectives. We believe that local communities should be well informed about developments that may affect them and should have every opportunity to contribute to the decision-making process. Protecting the Green Belt remains a key priority, not only for preserving open spaces and biodiversity but also for maintaining the distinctive character of our towns and villages.
Residents who wish to learn more about the proposal can find further information on our website and through Epping Forest District Council's planning portal under application reference EPF/1737/26.
The deadline for submitting comments is 18 October, and we would encourage anyone with an interest in the future of this site to review the application and make their views known.
